Abstract
Melanie Challenger, a Salt poet, won the Eric Gregory Award in 2005, and her first collection, Galatea, was nominated for the Forward Prize for Best First Collection. She is the British Antarctic Survey Artist in Residence for International Polar Year 2007-8, and will return from 3 months in Antarctica in February. She will speak about her experience in Antarctica and read from her work.
