Abstract
For many people, faith is the main motivation behind their altruism. Although Effective Altruism is a secular movement, it has many members of faith. Francesca Day – a theoretical physicist, stand-up comedian and liberal Roman Catholic – will be exploring the link between religion and effective giving.
More widely, Francesca is in charge of the lively community of Giving What We Can members of faith (https://www.givingwhatwecan.org/post/2015/11/giving-what-we-can-people-faith/), and will be excited to hear of anyone looking to take part in their active online community and meet-ups.
As always, this talk is open to both students and non-students.
Series This talk is part of the EA: Cambridge series.
