Epidemic Spread in Dynamic Human Networks

Abstract
Our current focus for the EU Haggle project (http://www.haggleproject.org) is on understanding the network structure/model in pervasive environments, where nodes (i.e. laptops, PDAs, smart phones) are sparsely distributed forming a network. These dynamic human networks are often partitioned due to geographical separation, node movement, or social activities. Efficient forwarding algorithms for such networks are emerging, mainly based on epidemic routing protocols. Thus, understanding information flow by epidemic in dynamic human networks is essential. I will describe our study of epidemic spread with a city-scale human connectivity trace.
