Abstract
Skills Talk: Academic Research Explained, Robert Harle
This talk will answer basic questions about how research works in the University and in particular in the Computer Lab. Topics will include: job descriptions and roles, funding and grants and expenses.
Research Talk: Datacentre design and report on BT visit, Andrew Rice
I will report on some of the things we saw during our visit to a BT datacentre last week. I will also cover basic datacentre design terminology such as the Tiering system.
