Matt Ritchie “Statistical computing for genomics”. I will talk about R software and algorithms for analysing microarray data.

Doug Speed “Parallelising MCMC in Sparsity Problems”.

“Markov Chain Monte Carlo is commonly used to sample from the posterior distribution of a problem’s variables. Because the sampling of one variable is dependent on the samplings up to that point, this method is typically hard to parallelise. However it seems parallelising may be possible in the sparse case, such as when applied to Association Mapping data, when we expect most variables to remain at zero.”
