Abstract

Pembroke College’s thirteenth William Pitt seminar , entitled “The Future of Truth: identity and politics in the age of fake news”, will be held in the McGrath Theatre, St Catharine’s College on Friday 12 October 2018. The seminar will be followed by drinks and dinner in Pembroke.

The speakers will be:

• Tony Hall, Baron Hall of Birkenhead, CBE , Director-General of the BBC (Chair)

• Luke Harding, foreign correspondent for the Guardian and author of Collusion

• Professor John Naughton FRSA , Senior Research Fellow at Centre for Research in the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities (CRASSH), University of Cambridge

• Caitriona Perry, Irish journalist and presenter with RTÉ and author of In America: Tales from Trump Country

• Dr Sander Van Der Linden, University Lecturer in Social Psychology at the University of Cambridge and Director of the Cambridge Social Decision-Making Laboratory
