Abstract
Mitochondria, our cellular power plants, generate energy needed by cells, but are also involved in a wide range of cellular processes (e.g. cell death and inflammatory responses). This central role led to a great interest in mitochondria as pharmacological targets. In this talk I will discuss how drugs enter and leave mitochondria and beneficially or adversely affect intra-mitochondrial therapeutic targets.
