Abstract
Abstract: Soon most of us will all have our DNA sequenced one way or another. This will be the age of personal genomics, where each person has their own genomic data, but what will we do with this and how will it change society? Current efforts to take advantage of mass genomic data focus on medical cohorts and association studies. These studies (called GWAS ) are based on straightforward statistics in principle, but I will talk about more complex computational approaches using molecular biology data that have the potential to transform what can be done with genomic data. I will also discuss the importance to personal genomics of studying the healthy individual, the commercial space and future impacts on society.
