Since 2004, two instruments for near and mid infrared long-baseline interferometry have been offered to the astronomical community in service and visitor mode by ESO at its Very Large Telescope Interferometer on Cerro Paranal, Chile. With AMBER and MIDI , high spatial as well as spectral resolution allow the study of young stellar objects, evolved stars, stellar disks, binaries, novae, and even AGN dust tori. I will highlight recent science with VLTI , and discuss its current capabilities for your scientific projects in the context of astronomical interferometry worldwide.
