"Suicide epidemiology in Korea from health equity perspective"

Abstract
Myoung-hee Kim, M.D., M.P.H., Ph.D. graduated medical school and got master degree of public health from Seoul National University School of Public Health and doctoral degree of preventive medicine from Hanyang University Graduate School. Also, she has a board of preventive medicine and spent two years for post-doctoral fellowship in Harvard University School of Public Health. She worked as an assistant professor for 7 years in Eulji University Medical College, and since 2010, she has been a director of Health Equity Research Center in People’s Health Institute. She is one of the founding members of the Korean Society for Equity in Health, and a long-time member of Solidarity for Workers’ Health, an labor advocacy group.
Her research interest lies in health inequality and social determinants of health;in particular, suicide epidemiology, health and safety of disadvantaged workers, health impacts of gender inequality. Recently, she was involved in projects to monitor health inequality, to publish statistical book of women’s health, and to develop strategies for tuberculosis control from human right perspective.
