Abstract
1. Developing a model for the eukaryotic translation initiation process based on recent structures mainly derived by cryo-EM 2. Structural insights into the Kozak sequence interactions with the mammalian late-stage initiation complexes 3. the identification of novel components of the initiation complex through structural analysis using Cryo-EM 4. Structural differences in the translation initiation process between pathogenic kinetoplastids and their mammalian hosts
