Abstract
Professor Hugh Rollinson is Course Director at the Faraday Institute and Emeritus Professor of Earth Sciences at the University of Derby. In his talk he will be demonstrating that the emergence of carbon-based life in the Universe was a long, slow process and raises theological questions about the nature of God’s creative work. The talk will also raise the question of how special is the Earth relative to other planetary bodies in the Universe and whether or not our planet is ‘fine-tuned’ for life.
Tea and coffee served from 12:30pm onwards. All are welcome. Further information visit www.faraday-institute.org
