Abstract
PhoCUS and the CUSU Disabled Student’s Campaign have come together to bring you this speaker event, where we will be in conversation with Sarah Gordy MBE , a British actress with Down’s Syndrome, and Daniel Vais both from the Radical Beauty Project. Sarah is one of the models for the project and Daniel is the creative director.
The Radical Beauty Project (http://www.radicalbeautyproject.com) is a fashion and art photography project working exclusively with models with downs syndrome, collaborating with artists to push and challenge the boundaries and normativisation of beauty in contemporary culture.
This will be a very vibrant presentation and discussion where we will deal with the intersecting issues of representation, disability and othering.
Please come along and be prepared to ask questions in Mill Lane Lecture Theatres – Room 1
