Abstract
After a brief overview of Google’s Bazel build system, we dive into the areas of build systems functionality that have not yet been topics of research. We will outline a number of areas that are simultaneously critical for performant, functional build systems, and at the same time have no existing satisfying answer, such as build system performance analysis, multi-platform builds, and automatic dependency discovery.
