Exotic Hadrons with Heavy Quarks
- đ¤ Speaker: Marek Karliner, University of Tel Aviv
- đ Date & Time: Wednesday 17 April 2019, 16:30 - 17:30
- đ Venue: Potter Room, B1.19
Abstract
I will discuss recent developments regarding new types of hadrons involving heavy quarks: doubly heavy baryons, stable tetraquarks and hadronic molecules, including the new pentaquark states announced by LHCb at the end of March. I will also explain how the discovery of the doubly heavy baryon leads to quark-level analogue of nuclear fusion, with energy release per reaction an order of magnitude greater than in ordinary fusion.
