SU(2) gauge theory, the Berry phase and spintronics
- đ¤ Speaker: Prof. Stewart Barnes, University of Miami

- đ Venue: TCM Seminar Room, Cavendish Laboratory
Abstract
A decent theory of the coupling between currents and magnetic textures such as domain walls or in spin valves requires a better understanding of magnetism, e.g., are the magnetic moments in permalloy (NiFe) local or itinerant? Some of these issues will be explained.
