Abstract
Wearable and mobile devices adoption have been soaring in recent years. These devices already offer very powerful sensing capabilities which can be explored to understand human behaviour and mobility. Yet, there are still barriers to their adoption in the context of mobile health, which we will discuss. In particular, I will explore the opportunities the current sensing technologies are offering and the challenges from the computer science perspective, in realizing their adoption in the context of mobile health diagnostic and progression tracking. I will give a number of examples taken from the projects we have been running over the years.
