Abstract
Cluster geometry is different from the geometry of point particles, because clusters can merge and the constituents can mix. We will discuss how some nuclei, especially Carbon-12 and Oxygen-16, are modelled as rotating and vibrating clusters of alpha particles. We also introduce a novel model for the fusion of Oxygen-16 and an alpha particle involving a spatial wormhole geometry. Some insight into these nuclei comes from Skyrmions.
