Abstract
Varying the precision used in computations trades the final error bounds in a design with the speed of solution and silicon area usage for individual operators. This talk will describe some basic background theory and an introduction into its use as a means to calculate error bounds and optimize the above trade off. It will then briefly discuss some initial approaches to examine how this method performs on basic test data.
