Technology has enabled global goods movements and supply networks, based on trust in underlying liquidity and monetary transfer mechanisms – but what happens if those networks suddenly break? From the evolution of modern payment systems to the parallels – and differences – between the 2008 financial crash and the COVID -19 crisis, the talk will shed light on the role of trust in today’s financial systems.
