Abstract
The modern laws of quantum mechanics were established in the period 1925-32 by (among others) Heisenberg, Schroedinger, Pauli, and Dirac. All tests of them to date have confirmed they are correct. But just because we know the laws, doesn’t mean we immediately know all that they allow to happen! In 1980, Condensed matter physicists thought they had a basic understanding of electronic and magnetic materials. Independently, two examples of “weird properties” were found at the same time, which we now know as a new kind of condensed matter in which quantum entanglement plays a key role…
