Abstract
David’s recent book, ‘The Idea of Nature in Disney Animation’ takes a fresh look at Disney animated films, seen from the particular perspective of their engagement with the theme of wild nature.
It provoked a flurry of critical response, including articles in the New York Times and the Herald Tribune. Amongst other claims, David argues that films such as Bambi and Finding Nemo helped inspire generations of environmentalists.
