The principles and practice of data visualization (15 mins) What can’t we see, what can we see and how to work within these limits. Gestalt theory and visualization layout for clarity using PARC . Colour theory and the use of perceptually uniform colour scales.

Experience visualizing uncertainty for command decisions makers (10 mins)
   DSTL/PHE modelling outcomes of an infectious disease outbreak in Manchester.
   DSTL/British Army modelling outcomes of a CBR attack on a supply ship.
   Application to the INI/V-KEMS June workshop outputs on modelling the reopening of universities.
Novel methods (5 mins)
    Research themes in the #VizTIG group at The Turing.
    The vizent library for communicating bivariate data (e.g. mean+sdev, cases + case acceleration)
    Automated tools for helping assess the human perception of visualizations.
