Experimental unsaturated soil mechanics: Multi-physics and multi-scale outlooks
- đ¤ Speaker: Prof. Enrique Romero, Director of Research, Head Geotechnical Laboratory, Polytechnic University of Catalonia
- đ Date & Time: Wednesday 02 June 2021, 19:00 - 20:00
- đ Venue: Delivered online via Zoom
Abstract
There is the need to move towards new experimental research topics on unsaturated soil mechanics, to revitalising its relevance and impact and shifting to new cross-disciplinary research topics (bioengineered systems, energy geotechnics, climate stresses, bulk solids technology). This reinvention should incorporate new multi-physics and multi-scale techniques to understand processes better and characterise them at smaller structural levels. The seminar will focus on some of these topics.
