Abstract
Although great care can be taken in optimising exceptional high prestige structures, much structural engineering work happens under stringent time and cost pressures. This, and the complexity of the tasks, leads to frequently suboptimal decisions taken early on in projects sometimes leading to twice as much embodied carbon as would be required. PANDA is a tool which can, through automated scheme design, help engineers and architect meet carbon targets cost-effectively every time.
