Abstract
Steve Pereira is Professor of Hepatology & Gastroenterology at UCL and a consultant gastroenterologist in pancreaticobiliary medicine at University College Hospital and The Royal Free Hospital, with research interests in the pathogenesis, early diagnosis and targeted therapies for biliary tract and pancreatic cancer, and related benign conditions (https://iris.ucl.ac.uk/research/personal?upi=SPPER57, @PereiraGroup).
Pilar Acedo currently works as a Research Associate at the Institute for Liver and Digestive Health, UCL Division of Medicine. Her research focuses on the generation of patient-derived models of biliary tract and pancreatic cancer, as preclinical tools to predict treatment response and for the discovery of early detection biomarkers. She also investigates novel therapeutic strategies to target these diseases using nanomedicine and photochemotherapy. (@pilar_acedo)
