Abstract
I will talk about my on-going journey towards a chromosome-level PacBio assembly of Gorteria diffusa, an enigmatic daisy growing in the South African desert. I will cover everything from tissue collection to contig scaffolding, and tell about my experiences with various software and the Cambridge CSD3 cluster. My assembly journey has had quite some twists and turns along the way, and I am looking forward to a vivid discussion about various aspects of this fast-evolving field.
