How to produce energy from geostructures
- 👤 Speaker: Dr Jean de Sauvage, Université Gustave Eiffel, France

- 📍 Venue: Delivered online via Zoom
Abstract
The growing energy needs in urban areas and the continuous transmission towards sustainability make energy geostructures one of the solutions that produce clean energy. The concept is quite easy, just fix heat exchanger pipes into the reinforcement cages of geotechnical structures and you will save the planet! Then, why the sesolutions are not so widespread? From fundamental thermomechanical observations to urban planification and standardisation issues, this talk tries to explain the barriers still preventing the large scale implementation of energy geostrucutures.
Series This talk is part of the Engineering Department Geotechnical Research Seminars series.
