Abstract
We only use a fraction of our brains, yet drugs to help us tap into unused mental potential have become increasingly available. Indeed, a recent study concluded that students use ‘smart drugs’ more commonly than one might imagine. What are the ethical, social and health-related implications of this development? The professional panel tackling the issue consists of:
- Professor Barbara Sahakian (Department of Psychiatry, University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine)
- Dr Anders Sandberg (Future of Humanity Institute, University of Oxford)
- Professor Steven Rose (Department of Life Sciences, The Open University)
- Professor Michael Langford (Faculty of Divinity, University of Cambridge)
Following a short presentation from each speaker, the floor will be open to you so we invite you to express your questions and views and come ready to challenge the panel!
