Abstract
Mitochondria are dynamic organelles that provide cells with energy and metabolites needed for survival and growth even during dramatic changes in diet, stress and development. Additionally, metabolites serve as key signaling molecules and enable communication within cells and between cells. Here I will discuss our efforts in identifying novel molecular mechanisms that promote anti-tumour immune control. I will also discuss ways to study how changes in systemic states, such as diet and age alter these cellular and molecular mechanisms. Ultimately, we are interested in understanding how these molecular mechanisms impact cellular function, normal tissue homeostasis, and disease progression.
