We give an elementary introduction to Gromov-Witten theory and one of the virtual techniques available to deal with its complications. As an application we give a short proof of Gromov’s Non-squeezing Theorem. It does not use the whole machinery of implicit atlases, only a basic property of the virtual fundamental class.
