Abstract
Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) combine the fast debugging and time-to-market of a programmable system with the very high parallelism offered by a hardware platform. In this talk, I will give an overview of FPGA architecture and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools and my recent contributions in this research field. In more detail, I will introduce a new benchmarking suite, called GroundHog 2009, that we have created to motivate low-power research for FPG As targeting the mobile computing domain. I will highlight some results in this topic and then suggest some avenues for further research in the FPGA field and beyond.
Series This talk is part of the CAS FPGA Talks series.
