In this talk, I’ll talk about events and publish/subscribe systems. I’ll explain why publish/subscribe systems are favored for wide-area information-based networks, and outline few challenges that have interested me over the past few years. I’ll talk about event dissemination and explore the scalability and expressiveness issues that may arise in their design and implementation.
