Quantum anomalies and the origin of time
- đ¤ Speaker: Professor Shahn Majid
- đ Date & Time: Wednesday 18 March 2009, 18:00 - 19:00
- đ Venue: Room 9, Mill Lane Lecture Rooms
Abstract
How much do we really know about space and time? Professor Shahn Majid will explain that the naive assumption of a space-time continuum is fundamentally flawed and without scientific basis. Our investigation into what should replace it will take us into quantum geometry, quantum gravity and the origin of time itself.
