Abstract
In this talk, I will consider the problem of designing absorbing boundary conditions for the simulation of dispersive equations. Roughly speaking, these are artificial boundary conditions set at the boundaries of the computational domain so that the numerical solution is nothing but the solution of the problem set on the whole domain but restricted to the computational domain. Other type of boundary conditions like classical Neumann or periodic boundary conditions may generate unphysical reflections or change the dynamical behaviour. As possible applications of this analysis, one may think on wave generation, domain decomposition, numerical analysis of modulation problems. These are joint works with: C. Besse, D. Sanchez (University of Toulouse) and M. Kazakova (University of Savoie)
