GR2W02 - Simple groups, representations and applications

We will discuss joint work with Pham Huu Tiep and Antonio Rojas L\’{e}on. We will first recall the notion of a local system, then explain basic facts about the monodromy group of a local system, with particular emphasis on Airy and hypergeometric local systems.
