Abstract
Tidal disruption of satellite galaxies on nearly-radial orbits creates shell-like structures in the halo of the host galaxy and corresponding folds and stripes in the phase space. I discuss the mechanisms of formation and evolution of these structures, their possible applications for constraining the mass distribution of the host galaxy and its subhalo population, and the discovery of these features in the Milky Way halo in Gaia DR3 .
