Abstract
â-type theories are a higher dimensional generalization of type theories introduced by Nguyen and the speaker (arXiv:2205.00798). The intended application is coherence problems in the higher categorical semantics of type theories. We gave a clean formulation of a general coherence problem in the language of â-type theories but only found a solution for a specific â-type theory.
In this talk, I will explain what â-type theories are and how coherence problems are formulated. I will also sketch a recent idea for a solution to coherence problems at some level of generality using normalization for â-type theories.
