Abstract
Clare Hall America Week presents “I Hear America Singing: An American Poetic Revue”, a night celebrating classic and contemporary American poetry, led by two expatriate American poets. Ryan Van Winkle and Tamar Yoseloff will read and discuss their own and other American poets’ work and contributions to literary life both in the US and the UK. This reading will be followed by a reception featuring American wine.
A native of Connecticut, Ryan van Winkle is currently the Reader-in-Residence at the Scottish Poetry Library and Edinburgh City Libraries, and is editor-in-chief at Forest Publications in Edinburgh.
A native of New Jersey, Tamar Yoseloff is the author of three collections of poetry, most recently Fetch (Salt, 2007), and is reviews editor for Poetry London magazine. She is also Programme Coordinator for the Poetry School in London.
