In this lecture, Dr Frank Salmon takes the eight dates – one from each century of the University’s existence – featured on the streetlight banners that can be seen about the city and explores what was going on in Cambridge architecture around those times. In what ways, did and do Cambridge buildings reflect the history of architecture in England more generally?

Is the Cambridge Collegiate system a bit of a mystery? How did the University and the town exist alongside each other 800 years ago? Come and find out about the University and the town in the past and present at one of our talks.
