Abstract
Date: 4-5pm, 22nd November | Venue: Pippard Lecture Theatre
Isaac Physics invites you to come and hear about their exciting developments and celebrate their achievements on the 22nd November, Pippard Lecture Theatre. The presentation will be followed by drinks. All members of the department are welcome to attend.
Isaac Physics is a resource for students in year 7 all the way through to first year university and supports maths, physics and chemistry. The project has just passed a significant milestone â more than 100 million question attempts by its users. Isaac has been used by 3,265 state schools in England, and more than 11,800 teachers. In 2021, we launched a new initiative â STEM SMART - a 17 month sustained course, working with students who had experienced educational disadvantage and groups who are traditionally underrepresented at University in physical sciences and engineering courses â to raise attainment and encourage applications to top universities. We hope that this presentation will be useful for all members of the department, including parents, those who are involved in admissions interviews this December and those who just want to learn more about what we do. In this presentation we will highlight our FREE to use resources, the impact we have achieved over the last 10 years and showcase the our outstanding STEM SMART students, their commitment to the programme and their experience.
