Abstract
Driven by broader technological trends and fuelled by the COVID -19 pandemic, the emerging field of digital health is transforming the entire house of medicine from how clinical trials are conducted to remote monitoring. The key components of wearables, AI, and information technology infrastructure are creating new care ecosystems that break the entrenched modes of healthcare delivery worldwide. However, there still remains major technology, clinical, and commercial gaps. In this presentation, we will discuss major contemporary advancements and failures in the field, highlight the speakerβs own experiences as a physician-engineer developing and commercializing digital health products, and identify opportunities in the space for clinical impact.
