Running between 30 Oct and 1 Nov at Madingley Hall, this University of Cambridge Institute of Continuing Education course will be made up of case studies and speakers providing answers to questions such as: how did POWs survive and why are some stories either not spoken, not listened to or have remained unknown. The course will also focus on all aspects of internment life – from escape tunnels, bedbugs and Klim tins to handicrafts and the experience of female internees.
