Abstract
In a world that doubts the existence of freewill and where scientists struggle to reveal the neural correlates for consciousness, where do we look to discover the source for rational thought and creativity? A lecture and discussion of the complementary tools psychologists and artists use in their combined bid to make sense of a strange world~ and the methods by which new thinking can be introduced into the exploration of age-old problems. If reality and consciousness is an illusion, on a parr with a magic trick, how might we inhibit the deceptions implicit in the process of thinking.
