Abstract
This talk focuses on “Smart Home” IoT camera systems, which have become widely adopted in recent years following advancements in computational power, machine learning and cloud computing. Consumers need camera features such as motion detection and object detection to be performed reliably in real time, and so these systems must optimally use the computational resources of every component, from edge to cloud.
I’m a graduate software engineer working on one of Roku’s new Smart Home security cameras. Join me to learn how we’re addressing these daunting challenges and applying cutting-edge solutions in our smart camera system.
