Abstract
Many jurisdictions worldwide are greatly increasing the amount of wind production, with the expectation that increasing renewables will reduce greenhouse emissions. We discuss the interaction of increasing wind, transmission constraints, renewable credits, wind and demand correlation, intermittency, and electricity market prices using the particular example of the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) market.
