Halide perovskites are widely recognized as one of leading contenders for next-generation photovoltaic devices. However, a critical challenge facing these semiconductors is their susceptibility to instability when exposed to illumination and electric fields. It is therefore crucial to study the intricate connection between the electronic density of states and the barriers to ion migration energy, which addresses the instability issues, and consequently propels the commercial advancements of halide perovskites.
