At the next Hat Club event at Hughes Hall, Laurence Bell will speak present โ€˜An Introduction to Space Elevatorsโ€™.

Wednesday 4th November 8.15pm in the Pavilion Room, Hughes Hall.

โ€œWhy use rockets to go into space when you can just take the lift? This talk will introduce the concepts involved in designing and building a permanent structure which extends 1/10th of the way to the moon, and some of the current research surrounding it.
