Abstract
William Seale, apart from his well known work as the organiser of Madingly Toad Rescue,has for many years specialised in recording an enormous range of sounds to be heard in the natural world:not only birds, but bats,shrews, crickets, grasshoppers, bees, and even the hissing sound which the Peacock butterfly makes as it swoops past you, the invader of its territory.
