Abstract
Making Grams, Kilogrammes, Tonnes and Up.
In this lecture, Dr Dunant will describe how concrete is made today and the potential of various alternatives and mitigation strategies which have been proposed to abate the close to 8% of man-made emissions attributed to cement. He will preserve the work of his team on producing cement electrically, which is challenging due to the high temperatures, and how a judicious choice of raw materials can make cement and concrete construction a truly circular choice using the new technology he is developing.
